Notes from Phamyns’ interview stream with Atos

Chris (Atos) did an interview on Phamyns’ stream. Interview from ~35 minutes to ~2 hours in the VOD of the stream.

Note: Quests and answered are paraphrased

  • Will the character sheet get an official update or will we rely on community based version?

    • Sounds like it’s up to the community until the devs have time to do it

  • Can we get a skill/buff that will increase the speed of fishing?

    • Chris has not looked into fishing that much

    • He will look into it

  • Baby shark pet and pets for water lots?

    • Will look into it

  • When will fishing levels mean anything other than catching more junk armor?

    • Will look into it

  • It seems like the bloodworm bait doesn’t increase the chance to catch sharks, is that the case?

    • Will look into it

  • Mosasaurus is the biggest fish in the game, and returns 2 fillets and stats from the food from it suck. Fix it?

    • Fixed on stream and since released in patch 1082

  • Crabs and/or lobsters?

    • Sure

  • There is a 5 minute time out when using the property manager, can it be decreased?

    • It will be shortened

  • If your house falls or you get evicted, can the house go to the property manager?

    • There is already a ticket for it

    • Will prioritize it

  • Can we bind to multiple locations?

    • Will be addressed

  • The material costs for crafting Mannequins is too damn high! 🙂

    • Mannequins create a lot of client load

    • The cost is one way to limit their use

  • Has the ransom been disabled?

    • Disabled on stream and released in patch 1082

  • Visual indicator when catching a rare fish, like with artifacts?

    • It will be done

  • Crown store hats remove your hair when worn. Can this be fixed?

    • Yes

  • Wyvern heads are extra-super-special-extremely rare. Fix please?

    • Chris was surprised to see they are currently set to 1/1000

    • Fixed on stream and since released in patch 1082

  • Wyvern food sucks

    • Fixed on stream and since released in patch 1082

  • One of the big issues with attracting new players is the poor loot. Can this be addressed?

    • Due to early backend design decisions, it is difficult to add/update look across the board

    • Will work on a solution

    • But, players need to craft better gear and sell it to NPC so it will go into the loot tables

  • Why are light sources turning pink?

    • They know about it. But, having a tough time reproducing it

  • When will the charity support items make it into the crown store?

    • It’s been difficult managing how much goes to the charities since crowns drop in game

    • Working on it and really want to bring the items and charity support back

  • Steam achievements are not triggering. Will it be fixed?

    • It’s on the list to fix

    • But, other things are a higher priority for now

    • Hope to get Crown purchases in steam as well

  • Can we have more than 4 lava fish?

    • Yes

    • Will take time though

  • Treasure maps?

    • Been on the list for years

    • Have much of the supporting tech

    • Hope to get it done as part of or before episode 2

  • Why do NPC vendors pay he same for +1 or +2 gear?

    • Will look into it
