This Week In Novia

Welcome to the first installment of our new weekly article: This Week in Novia!

Every Friday I will do my best to bring you a summary of the hot topics that were posted in the Shroud of the Avatar forums. A lot happens in our forums over the course of a week, so it is easy to miss some of the great (and not so great) posts, replies, suggestions, and complaints.

Let us take a look at what happened this week:

A Plea

This thread, started by player Ulskanine, quickly became a topic that many had opinions about. Ulskanine brought up the subject of Real Money Transactions (RMT). A well-written post about how they are invested in Shroud and are willing to pay for things with real money, but they are concerned with the pricing of things such as Heritage Items. Many had things to add to this…

What Changes Would Get You to Play Shroud Again

Although an older post that was started on November 4, 2019 – this thread is still going strong 7 pages later. If you have the time to skim through it, it has some very interesting suggestions from the player base.

The Reinvention of the SOTA Streamer Program

If you are a streamer, or were a previous streamer, the SOTA team is looking to change the streamer program and are still looking for ideas from streams. If you have anything to add, be sure to do it here:

SotACon Austin 2020 – Ideas, Plans, and Coordination Starts Now!

Yep, SotACon planning is in full swing. This thread posted by Winfield has some updated information about the possible plans for SotA Convention and if you have any ideas, make sure you leave them in the thread!

Help the Game – Nominate Labor of Love Steam Award

Right now, Steam is taking nominations for their Steam Awards. Tardis has posted asking for others to nominate Shroud of the Avatar for the Labor of Love Award. This award is described as: This game has been out for a while. The team is well past the first unveiling of their creative baby, but being the good parents they are, these devs continue to nurture and support their creation. This game, to this day, is still getting new content after all these years.

You can see the awards here:

Lua Discussions

With Lua being still very new in the game, many new posts have gone up in the new Lua discussion forum. Instead of highlight just one thread this week, I suggested you just take a look through the new forum if you are interested in Lua scripting!

And last but not least, a shout out to the community radio stations who bring us the greatest music, news, and entertainment here in Novia!
